Fall 2008 Athletics Start dates:
August 6th - Girls Athletic Physicals 6-8pm
6:00pm – Field Hockey and Volleyball
6:45pm – Soccer and Cross Country
7:15pm – Cheerleading and Tennis
August 7th - Boys Athletic Physicals 6-8pm
6:00pm – Soccer and Cross Country
6:45pm – Football
August 14th - Athlete and parent meeting for all teams, 6:00pm in the High School Auditorium. At least one parent or guardian must attend this meeting with the student athlete.
August 18th all practices begin (start times below).
All athletes wanting to participate in interscholastic athletics during the Fall of 2008, must have the following paperwork completed before the first day of practice.
1. Physical: An athletic physical completed by your physician on or after January 1st, 2008. The form attached must be completely filled out, dated, and signed by your doctor.
2. Rhode Island Interscholastic League Risk Form: All students must completely fill out 2 forms, and have each form notarized.
3. Read Handbook for Student Athletes: Each student and parent must read the handbook, and agree to all policies and procedures. (2008-2009 handbook will be posted by August 1st)
4. Acknowledgement and Parent Permission Form: After reading the Handbook, both student athlete and parent must sign the form, and complete the emergency medical information.
5. School Insurance: Every student athlete must be covered with health insurance. The minimum required is the “school time” insurance policy (Football players must take out the additional “Football Only”, as well as, the minimum “school time” plan. Football injuries are not covered under any other plan). (Insurance pamphlets will be available in the second week of August)
