Local Scholarships
Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has a $500 scholarship to honor a student with asthma and/or significant allergies. Completed application is due by February 29, 2012.
Barrington Citizens Scholarship may be downloaded at the link or picked up in the BHS Guidance Office. The deadline is March 2, 2012.
Cox Scholarship program is currently accepting applications. Student's degree of study should be consistent with the company's vision. You may obtain an application by visiting their website. Cox will award 8 ($2,000) scholarships. Deadline is March 5, 2012.
Desiree Mesolella Art Scholarship is offering two $5000 scholarships to a RI resident attending a RI high school and who has applied to and been accepted into an accredited 4 year college or school majoring in an art field. Deadline is April 20, 2012
Paul F. Ronci Scholarship provides an annual scholarship to a full-time student who has attained academic excellence, demonstrates financial need, is a RI resident, aspires to further the good of humanity and who otherwise displays leadership skills and a desire to better society. Application deadline is March 31, 2012.
Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund offers renewable, 4-year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic excellence, a demonstrated sense of serice to those around them, good character, and a strong work ethic. Awards are limited to residents of New England only. Applications will be posted online by the middle of January 2012. The postmarked deadline for applications is May 1, 2012.
RI Building Industry Scholarship Fund has scholarship money available to students who have an interest in pursuing an education in the construction field. Last year they gave out over 8,000 in scholarships. You may pick up the application in the BHS Guidance office. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2012. RI Pilots Association is again offering an aviation related scholarship to residents of RI. The applications and requirements are available on their website. Deadline is February 28, 2012.
RI Polonia Scholarship Foundation are awarded to students of Polish-American descent who are RI residents or who belong to a RI Polish-American organization. Applications are downloadable online. Submit any questions by email to polishscholarshipsri@gmail.com. Deadline is February 15, 2012

RI Saltwater Anglers will be awarded to any RI resident high school senior who will attend the University of Rhode Island or Roger Williams University in either a Marine Biology, Marine Affairs or in Fisheries and Agriculture programs, within one year. The awards will be in the amount of $500 each, and the receipients will be selected based on merit and need. You may download the application from their website. RI Society of Professional Engineers have a scholarship for high school seniors who wish to pursue a college degree in engineering. Applications must be received by March 20, 2012.
