  • COLLEGE GOAL RHODE ISLAND is Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.  At College Goal RI, financial aid professionals will help college-bound students and their families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  This form is required for any student seeking federal financial aid, including grants and loans at educational institutions nationwide.  This program is FREE and sponsored by RI Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (RIASFAA), the YMCA and LUMINA Foundation for Education. Locations will include E. Providence, Providence, West Warwick and other sites soon to be finalized.  For additional information visit their website.   

  • For more information on the Common Application procedures please click on this link, as well as check out the College and Career Information page on our website. 
    Also, please fill out the Student Activity Sheet
     in order to assist your teacher/counselor in writing your college recommendation letters.  Make sure when filling out the Common Application that you list your Guidance Counselor as well as his/her correct email address. (Please check with your counselor to make sure you have their correct address.
     

  • If you are applying to colleges who do not use the Common Application please fill out a Transcript Request Form either online or pick up one in the Guidance Office and return it to Guidance with the appropriate school report forms. 
    Please note:  We do not send transcripts to coaches.  You may pick up an unofficial copy of your transcript and send/deliver it to the coach/coaches yourself.

  • RI Foundation has scholarships available that can be downloaded from their website.   Also, check the Scholarship Page periodically as we update scholarships when we receive them.  Also, please check the College Open Houses & Career Info Sessions for listings of upcoming career expos as well as the Summer Programs listings.


  • Attention Juniors and Seniors:  Please check out the "College Visits" calendar to view the colleges and universities who will be presenting in the BHS Guidance Office this year.  You must sign up for the presentation in the Guidance Office before the visit to pick up a pass.  We are adding new schools every day so keep checking this web link for the schools you are interested in.

  • National Honor Society Peer Tutoring will be held in the Teen Room of the Barrington Public Library, Monday through Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  See the NHS website for specific subjects for a given night (subject to availability of NHS students).
       
  • Working Papers information from the RI Dept. of Child Labor :  The employer should provide The Intent to Employ Minor form (or you can dowload it) which must be signed by the employer and child's guardian.  If your child will be working in Massachusetts you should pick up the forms at the Seekonk School Administration Bldg.
