American Legion Boys and Girls State Program will be held June 13-18, 2010 at Roger Williams University is a one-week orientation course on the workings of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of Government. The students, all high school juniors, form their own political parties, formulate party platforms and conduct spirited campaigns for public office. The only requirement for this program is that the student must have completed the junior year of high school. College Visit Series to Boston University March 18 and URI, March 16 are being run through the Barrington Community School. To sign up, visit their website at Barrington Community School or pick up an application form from the Guidance Office. Last day to sign up for these trips is Friday, March 12. Please pick up a permission slip and return it to the Guidance Office.

United States Senate is hosting their annual United States Service Academy Day at CCRI in Warwick on Saturday, April 24, 2010 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This informational seminar is for all RI high school students interested in learning about the requirements and procedures for seeking a Congressional nomination and obtaining an appointment to one of th United States Service Academies. Reminder to Seniors:

If you require mid-year grades to be sent to your "non" common application schools, please let the Guidance Office know.

If you are applying to colleges who do not use the Common Application please fill out a Transcript Request Form either online or pick up one in the Guidance Office and return it to Guidance with the appropriate school report forms. Make sure when filling out the Common Application that you list your Guidance Counselor as well as his/her email address. Please note: We do not send transcripts to coaches. You may pick up an unofficial copy of your transcript and send/deliver it to the coach/coaches yourself.
- RI Foundation has scholarships available that can be downloaded from their website. Also, check the Scholarship Page periodically as we update scholarships when we receive them. Also, please check the College Open Houses & Career Info Sessions for listings of upcoming career expos as well as the Summer Programs listings.
- Working Papers information from the RI Dept. of Child Labor : The employer should provide The Intent to Employ Minor form (or you can dowload it) which must be signed by the employer and child's guardian. If your child will be working in Massachusetts you should pick up the forms at the Seekonk School Administration Bldg.
