  • New:  Barrington High School scholarship is available to either download from the website or pick one up in the BHS Guidance office.  The deadline for submission is Friday, May 17th.  This application will be used by the BHS Awards Committee to determine the recipients of several scholarships that are made available to BHS Seniors. 

  • NewCollege Fair: Stonehill College, Wednesday, May 15th from 7:00-9:00 pm

  • New:  Colleges that Change Lives Tour: visiting New York City and Boston in May 2013.  A collection of 40 liberal arts colleges located throughout the country will make presentations in it's eastern swing during the week of May, 21 & 22, 2013. 

  • Exploring College Options is hosting information sessions for students and parents for Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn and Stanford in May in the New England area.  Check out their website for more information.

  • SAT CAMP is scheduled for August 5th - August 9th from 8:00 - 12:00 here at BHS.  Teachers, Mrs. Marley and Mr. Blanchard offer individualized attention, 20 hours of instruction and practice.  Cost is $200.  Please sign up ASAP in the BHS Guidance Office as space is limited.

  • American Legion Boys State Program is scheduled for June 9th thru June 14, 2013 at Roger Williams University.  They are looking for Junior HS students 16-17 that have an interest in Democracy, Leadership skills and being able to debate.  The program is a week-long instruction teaching the process of democracy.  The week is filled with classroom instruction and an on hand experience learning how our form of government works.  Students will be writing bills for a mock legislation at the State House on Thursday of that week.  For more information contact Mrs. Corry in the Guidance Office. 

  • PSAT Information for parents click on the following links:  Parent Tutorial,  College QuickStart and  Score Report Tutorial  for 9th and 10th grade students.

  • NHS Peer Tutoring is up and running at the Barrington Public Library Monday through Thursday 6-8pm.  Please check the NHS Calendar, click on a week and see a night by night breakdown of each night's options. 

  • For interesting summer study programs across the country as well as summer adventures, please check out our Summer Programs listings.  We are currently adding new programs daily.  We also have a Summer Programs book filled with brochures in our Guidance Office for you to look through.

  • Working Papers information from the RI Dept. of Child Labor :  The employer should provide The Intent to Employ Minor form (or you can dowload it) which must be signed by the employer and child's guardian.  If your child will be working in Massachusetts you should pick up the forms at the Seekonk School Administration Bldg.
