The Interact Club is a service and social club for 14 - 18 yr. olds sponsored by the Rotary Club which guides in the development of local and international service projects. Interact clubs are in over 110 countries with more than 250,000 members and 9,000 clubs world wide.

Our club is self governing and self supporting offering members development of leadership and teamwork skills.  The club carries out local service projects that benefit the school and the community.  Activities include visits to nursing homes, developing lasting friendship with the residents.  Working with orphanages and homeless shelters is an ongoing project.  The members periodically sponsor clothing drives, recently, collecting coats for the "Coats for Kids" drive in Rhode Island. A food drive, "The Hunger Brigade", recently stocked the pantry shelves locally.

Many of our members are active in fund raisers for The Tomorrow Fund, American Breast Cancer Walk, The Miracle Mile Walk for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, just to name a few, raising thousands of needed dollars each year. The camaraderie within our organization is simply fantastic.

As part of our international service project to expand an understanding of the world and promote good will, we recently held a dinner to benefit an orphanage and school for the deaf in Vietnam.  We raised over three thousand dollars for the purchase of computers in order to connect them with the world.  We are presently gearing up for another international service project called "Building Bridges".  A dinner will be held to raise money to construct a stone bridge in a remote village in Vietnam.

New members are always welcome.  Meetings are usually scheduled once every third week in the evening at the high school
