CLARIFICATIONS: Superintendent Update April 28, 2021: Barrington Public Schools to Sponsor COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic 16 -18-Year-Olds

Great news! We just received notice yesterday that we are able to sponsor a Barrington COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at Barrington High School.

Who is Eligible:

  • All 16 -18-year-old students and immediate family members 16 years old or older
  • Any staff member who needs a vaccination

 

Which Vaccine:

The Barrington Fire Department will be supervising the administration of the Pfizer vaccine. 

 

When and Where:

  • First Dose Thursday morning, May 6, 2021, during the school day
  • Second Dose Friday morning, May 28, 202, during the school day
  • BHS Auditorium

 

To accurately capture the number of individuals who would like to be vaccinated.  Please complete BOTH SURVEYS by 8 AM Tuesday, May 4, 2021 so we can plan accordingly. If you complete the surveys, you are committing to both the first and second vaccinations at this clinic. The Town of Barrington will order doses for you that will expire at the end of each day. If you are committed to vaccinating with us and have made an appointment at another location, please cancel your appointment

Please complete the second dose SURVEY no later than 8 AM Wednesday, May 26, 2021.  

 

Remember, it takes approximately two weeks after the final vaccination to develop immunity against COVID-19.

 

Vaccines do not cause disease. However, vaccines can cause your immune system to respond. This is a sign that the vaccine, and your body’s immune system, are working. People may feel some soreness in their upper arms, some aches, and fatigue, and other mild symptoms that can vary. This is entirely normal, and they will clear up in a few days. Some people may experience no symptoms.
