Our Barrington Middle School softball team ended its second season ever with an exciting State Championship win last night!
The Eagles, down 7-0 in the first two innings, battled through to become state champs with a score of 10-9!

💙👟💛BPS CRUISES FOR CAROLINE:
Yesterday, our entire BPS community came together to honor the life of our beloved Caroline Friedman and to support the Caroline Friedman Scholarship Foundation established in her memory.
Students and staff at each of our schools walked alongside one another - and our Hampden Meadows Elementary School students even sang “Sweet Caroline” as they cruised along. 💖🎶

The tenth time’s the charm for our Barrington High School boys tennis team!
Yesterday, our Eagles ended their perfect undefeated season with a Division 1 State Championship win! BHS is only the fourth team since 1933 to achieve double digit state titles! 👏🏻🎉🦅

Barrington Middle School eighth graders are having fun on their class trip to Washington, D.C. this week, exploring museums and learning about United States history and government!
🏅🧫🧬BHS SCIENCE OLYMPIAD STUDENTS COMPETE AT NATIONALS:
Our Barrington High School Science Olympiad team competed at the National Science Olympiad tournament in Lincoln, Nebraska, this week and had a great showing!
BHS senior, Isabelle, and juniors, Neal and Iris, placed first out of 61 teams in the experimental design event. Theirs is the first national win in any event for Rhode Island students since 1996! 👏🌟🎊

🏃♂️🏃♀️🦅BHS TRACK TEAMS ARE CLASS B CHAMPIONS:
Congratulations to our Barrington High School boys and girls outdoor track teams for becoming Class B champs over the weekend!
The BHS boys team scored 252 points at Saturday’s championship meet, nearly 200 points ahead of the second place finisher. The Eagles had class champions in 11 out of 19 events, including 22 All-Class (top 3) performances. Special congrats to BHS student-athlete, Caleb, who smashed Barrington's 1983 school record in the high jump. With a 7'0" jump, he now ranks 13th in the nation in this event! 👟🙌🏻
The BHS girls team scored 156.5 points, more than 50 points ahead of the runners up, and earned the team’s first outdoor track class championship title since 2015! 👏🏻🎉
Way to go, Eagles! Our athletes will compete for state championship titles on June 7 at Brown University. 🏆⭐️🦅
🥎⚾️🦅BMS ATHLETICS TEAMS IN PLAYOFFS:
It has been a great spring athletics season for our Barrington Middle School athletes! The BMS softball team, now in its second year, recently finished the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record! The BMS baseball team, in its inaugural year, is also having an exciting season. 👏🎉
Both middle school teams will play in playoff games against Broad Rock Middle School in South Kingstown this afternoon, May 23. Good luck, Eagles! 💙💛

🏅🧬🛎BHS STUDENTS HEAD TO NATIONAL SCIENCE OLYMPIAD:
For the fifteenth straight year, our Barrington High School Science Olympiad team won the Rhode Island state championship. This week, they are heading to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to compete in the National Science Olympiad!

✏️🧮🏆BHS MATH TEAM WINS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP:
Congratulations to the Barrington High School math team for winning the Rhode Island Math League State Championship!
The math team scored 367 points this season, tying a state record set in 2006 by Barrington, and brought home the state title for the 22nd time in the last 26 years. BHS also placed as the top public school in the New England Math League this season and was one of only two Rhode Island schools, ahead of the Wheeler School, to finish in New England's top 30. 💯🦅

Congratulations to Barrington High School senior, Will, who was recently selected as one of the top-12 high school football players in Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame!
In addition to playing on the BHS football team, Will has also been a standout member of the BHS track team. He will be soaring from Barrington to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point next fall. Way to go, Will! 🦅⭐️

International Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day promotes healthy habits, road safety, and environmental awareness. The recent rainy weather cleared just in time for Hampden Meadows Elementary School students to walk, bike, and roll to school! 🐯☀️🚶
⛵️🛟🌊BHS SAILING PLACES FIRST AT TOURNAMENT:
Congratulations to the Barrington High School sailing team for a successful weekend at the New England Schools Sailing Association (NESSA) Team Racing Tournament at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)!
Our sailors placed first overall in the regatta and brought the Terk Trophy home to Barrington. 🥇💪 Way to go, Eagles!
🟢⚪️🔴BMS CELEBRATES CINCO DE MAYO:
The Barrington Middle School World Language department puts together three cultural celebrations throughout the year. During Trimesters 1 and 2, students learned about El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Mardi Gras. This week, they learned about and celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a lesson on history, music, and food.
Thank you to the generous BMS families who prepared and donated taquitos, tres leches, and agua de sandía for our students to try!
🌈💙☮️BPS CELEBRATES A DAY WITHOUT HATE:
We're all in this together! Barrington High School's Chain Reaction club recently organized a district-wide celebration of A Day Without Hate to encourage all members of our Barrington community to commit to unity, mutual respect, and nonviolence. 🤝🌼💓
Our students, staff, and families created peace posters for display in each of our schools as a visible reminder that kindness is a cornerstone of our community and BPS does not tolerate violence or hate.

👫👟☀️BEST BUDDIES FRIENDSHIP WALK:
Members of our Barrington Middle School Best Buddies participated in the Best Buddies International Friendship Walk in Providence over the weekend!
The Friendship Walk supports Best Buddies programs in schools, workplaces, and communities. All of our participants had a fantastic time in the sunshine on Sunday supporting an important organization! 🌈
🌎💡MLL TEACHERS RECEIVE TEACHING GRANT:
Congratulations to two of our multilingual learner (MLL) teachers, Catarina Anselmo and Terri Couto, who have received a teaching fellowship grant from Fund for Teachers! ⭐️
This summer, they will travel to Brazil to observe and learn from an Indigenous community in Três Unidos, Amazonas, Brazil. As part of this experience, they will also create collaborative partnerships between teachers and students from Kanata T-Ykua Municipal Indigenous School in the Amazon Rainforest and teachers and students in our Barrington community. 👩🏫📖
