๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿฆ’SOWAMS COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT IS "IZSPIRED": Sowams School third graders in Mrs. Adamson's and Mrs. Lally's classroom recently completed a community service project benefitting the Izzy Family Room at Hasbro Children's Hospital. In the spirit of the Izzy Foundation, a local nonprofit that funds and "IZspires" creative projects, spaces, and programs for families whose children have cancer, Sowams students made pillows and wrote notes of encouragement to be shared with children at Hasbro. ๐ŸถHMS STUDENT COUNCIL MAKES A DIFFERENCE: The Hampden Meadows School Student Council hosted a March collection drive to benefit the Hotel for Homeless Dogs Humane Society in Cumberland. Yesterday, Student Council members visited the Hotel for Homeless Dogs to deliver 365 items (including dog food, collars, leashes, bowls, beds, blankets, toys, and cleaning supplies!) generously donated by the Hampden Meadows community. They also got to tour the facility, make dog treats, bag treats for volunteer dog walkers, and, of course, meet the four-legged beneficiaries of their donations! Thank you to Student Council advisor, Miss O'Neil, and the entire HMS community for helping our students make a difference! ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿ•

BMS now has a rapid response team of administrators, teachers, and staff who are trained and ready to respond to any cardiac emergency in the school. The Stagemasters performed an excerpt from their upcoming spring production, Clue: On Stage (High School Edition). Barrington High School seniors Maya and Ashley directed the scene as part of an extension of their Senior Project. ๐ŸฅซHMS SOUPERBOWL COLLECTS DONATIONS FOR TAP IN: The Hampden Meadows Elementary School SOUPerbowl, a school-wide donation drive organized by the HMS Student Council, collected 1,019 cans of soup for TAPIN! Student Council members helped shelve, sort, and weigh the donations they delivered to Tap-In. They also received a tour of the food pantry to better understand how Tap-In helps address food insecurity in the East Bay. ๐Ÿ‹ BMS WINS WYLAND FOUNDATION NATIONAL MURAL COMPETITION: This month, a mural designed by Barrington Middle School eighth graders won first place in the middle school division of the Wyland Foundation's National Art and Classroom Mural Challenge! The Art Challenge is one of the top environmental art competitions for youth. This year's theme is environmental and water conservation, a topic that hits home for Rhode Islanders. Barrington Middle School's winning mural highlights the important message of whale conservation and protection. Working together on this mural challenged students to be collaborative, flexible, and creative.
